Anthony Cartalucci: "The crisis in #Myanmar, like terrorist armies suddenly rising in the #Philippines, is an intentional act of geopolitical arson designed to achieve a decades-old objective of placing US military forces in Southeast Asia vis-a-vis China." Western propaganda and 'NGO' mobilisation

"To be sure, the whole of Western culture is complicit, but what astounds is the complicity of what defines itself as left. Notably, the complicity of those among the left’s comfortable and intellectual “tendencies,” usually called “liberals.” But in general, a whole language has vanished from the Western left’s vocabulary: class struggle, international solidarity, peace among peoples, social justice, exploitation, poverty. They are so illiterate in left theory and experience that the call the ruling class’s booth on their faces, “the deep state.” This today in the West is an amalgam (rather than a conscious political program) of a loose and dangerous left. It dreams, if it dreams at all, of a revolution without struggle. The answer to that pietism is force. Whole nations wiped off the face of the earth.

We now, on this loose left, trade in our critical faculties at the theatre of propaganda. In return, the propaganda pounds, batters, and sequesters our emotions so that we end up identifying with the narrative of power. The narrative insists that the West has the Holy Grail. It insists that it has a messianic mission to improve the world by sharing the Grail’s liberal values." 'The Terrorism of Moral Indignation', Aug, 2017. Luciana Bohne

"Re: #Myanmar and the #Rohingya. Email blast from Avaaz. At this point the only thing left is for Bernard-Henri Lévy to make a pilgrimage to Rakhine State and make some propaganda on behalf of local "freedom fighters:"

Urgent: They’re beheading children

Dear friends,

No-one had heard of Rwanda, until 800,000 people were dead. And right now in Burma, the Rohingya community is being hunted down by rampaging bands of soldiers hellbent on murder.

It’s sickening. They're even beheading tiny children.

But here’s the craziest thing -- the military behind this massacre is supported by countries like Britain, Germany and Japan!

Burma's generals have spent years building these alliances. Let's demand our governments end their support until the slaughter is stopped -- when our call is huge we’ll take out ads in media at a major global summit in a few days!

Tell governments to stop supporting killers!

Governments around the world have engaged with Burma’s military -- hoping to prevent massacres like we’re seeing right now. It’s clear that policy has failed, but they have massive leverage by breaking ties with these butchers!

The Rohingya are a peaceful, poverty stricken community who are denied citizenship of Burma, because of their darker skin and different religion. They’ve been persecuted for years -- but this is the worst crisis they have ever faced.

Tell governments to stop supporting killers!

We’ve helped the Rohingya before -- when thousands fled a previous crackdown and were stranded at sea, our global community donated to support rescue missions to save them. Now they need us again -- more than ever. Let’s rise to their call.

With hope,

Bert, Rewan, Ana Sofia, Danny, and the entire Avaaz team

Q: Why will there never be a coup d’état in Washington?

A: Because there’s no American embassy there.
